1981 steering column offset to the right.

My 1981 F250 has been completely completely dissembled and reassembled. cab off of frame and all dash components out. I have been driving the truck and I'm down to the finishing touches. Fitting the instrument bezel and the column is about 3/4" to the right. The speedometer , gauges, dash, dash pad all appear perfectly centered. The metal structure for the dash fit perfectly. I checked the aluminum brace the supports the column and it appears centered. Has anyone encountered this?

It may be the trim that is wrong.

Examining the trim I find this on the back. E4HZ-60044D70. Researching this I find: 1984 Ford F600 F700 Truck Dash Gauge Cluster Trim Panel E4HZ-60044D70
It's the trim-- I would have lost money on that bet, all 1080-86 trim being the same. Here is the exception.

Right. The medium duty trucks had almost identical instrument cluster bezels....at a glance they look the same, but the steering columns are in different locations, so they are not interchangeable unfortunately. I see them listed incorrectly on Ebay all the time.
