Dash to steering column alignment....

Mybe its just my freakin OCD but on my 2015 f250 that I've owned since new the trim around the steering column doesnt line up directly with the dash and it's irritating the hell out of me! Not the steering wheel to the steering column trim but the column trim to the dash/instrument cluster. When I lock the tilt/tele lever in, the right side of the column lifts up maybe a 1/16th to maybe closer to 1/8th of an inch and it irratates me because the two lines to match up evenly. Is this normal for this design tilt/tele steering column? Somebody help me out and tell me if this is normal or what.... please lol

You can see the right side is just a little higher than the left side...

Never looked at my truck but i would assume that it would be considered within normal range as far as alignment of the 2 go.

Out of all the vehicles Ive owned I've never had one do like that... If you think about take a look at yours and see if its the same... Maybe it's something I need to take in under warranty.

I just cked my 2016 and it is like yours . If you twist the colum before you lock the tilt it will either tilt left , right or straight . I hate to say this but your being a little OCD . I know if you brought it in the mechanic would think you have other issues than that .

Lolol I hear ya chickfisher69. Thanks for checking on yours and replying back. I'm bad about picking up on little differences and oddities, I'm a detail person, it's a curse from my career in chemical manufacturing. I was more concerend as to weather or not there was an underlying issue with my steering column tilt mechanism but if others are the same as mine then there is nothing to be concerned with. It was irritating me so I had to throw it out there and find an answer.

Mine is the same way too. Was like that when I bought it. It's really not that noticeable unless your looking for it. I'm like you. I notice every detail and every noise.

The gap on mine is uniform. I'm CDO (it's like OCD, only the letters are in the correct order! ), so I do notice stuff like that too.
