Tailgate Issue

Anyone ever deal with this or have any advice? My tailgate seems to operate fine except that it doesn’t seem to fully lock when closed. It feels tight/locked, but if you yank with a bit of force the gate will open? Any thoughts/ideas?

Hmmm. Then just don't yank on it.

Sorry. Couldn't resist.

Ha ha I did ask for that! Only problem is sometimes it falls down as I’m driving.

The latches aren't completely engaging the strikers. Sounds like the strikers need to be moved rearward slightly. That's assuming the latches work properly. That would be easy enough to verify looking at the latches when you pull and release the handle and make sure the latches move all the way outward. When you close the tailgate, try not slamming it. Just close it gently and push to verify that you hear the latches "click" when they engage the strikers...each side individually. A little lube lightweight lube in all the mechanisms couldn't hurt.
