Remote Start
Have decided I miss not having remote start. Looking at different options between OEM and aftermarket, I am inclined to go the OEM direction. I know the OEM kit comes with keys and an antenna. Here is the real question----Is the antenna really necessary? Getting the keys cut/programmed and the module activated at the dealer----what difference does the antenna really make? Is it purely a range limitation or does actually plugging it into the tpms somehow activate the module?
Even to add the long distance remote start via the Perimeter Security module, you need this remote start per the instructions.
If you have access to FORScan on a laptop and an OBDII adapter to interface with the laptop, you can activate the remote start yourself.
Here is a link that was posted recently where the remote start was added to a 2016.
