I now have remote start.
Forscan and an accidental discovery has given me remote start-all for the cost of a 4 button key. Ford has remote start built into the F150 as well as their other cars I would assume.
Forscan allows you to enable remote start in the BCM. A member on another forum did this but also bought the100 RS module that Ford sells to get remote start-or so we thought. During the install the individual accidentally cut the wire to the module. At this point all he has done was enable remote start and have the key cut and programmed. At this point the module is not hooked up since the wire is cut.
So on a whim he pushed the remote start button on the fob and his truck started. It was a Christmas miracle. Now, it has been determined that the RS module that one buys from Ford is just an antenna.
So others, including myself, have enabled remote start in the BCM and bought the 4 button key. I just had my key cut at the Ford dealer and went home and programmed it. I now have remote start.
Now there are two things still in question. How do we go about enabling the remote start in the instrument cluster(I am trying some hex codes this weekend) and improving the range without buying the Ford kit. The range is only as good a the remote. Others are working on it. Good times.

For those of us who have zero understanding of this yet....
I have a 2013 F150 & a 2016 Fusion...
1. I'll be able to read DTC's, program additional key's & make programming changes to BCM, etc. with this software ?
2. What do I need to hook my Laptop to my 2 vehicles & where do I buy it ?
3. Which of these 2 should I download onto my Laptop (Windows 10) ?
FORScan version 2.3.4 beta for Windows - free
FORScan version 2.3.4 beta for Windows (Wine edition) - free, without Extended Licensing (to avoid Wine compatibility problems)
Thanks in advance

1. I'll be able to read DTC's, program additional key's & make programming changes to BCM, etc. with this software ?Yes. There are probably more options available for your Fusion since it is newer. I am sure there is a Fusion forum that covers Forscan.
2. What do I need to hook my Laptop to my 2 vehicles & where do I buy it ? You need an OBDII reader that can read both MSCAN and HSCAN. You can get a cheap one on Amazon or the preferred one on Amazon is the OBD MX Bluetooth.
3. Which of these 2 should I download onto my Laptop (Windows 10) ? Wine addition is for Macs and Linux OS. You will need the extended license to make changes. It's free. You download the software and then submit for the license.
