First time poster, been using this site for a long time and have gained a ton of knowledge so far!
I have a 03 e350 7.3 with an annoying problem regarding the TRS. I bought one from the stealership a year ago after having problems with the factory one.
Fast forward a year I've been chasing a no reverse light and flashing OD in P only.
Forward again to today after endless troubleshooting and wire tracing I have finally decided to jump the pins on my "new" TRS and can you believe it, the reverse lights work!!!!!! Go and plug it back in and nothing. So the conclusion is the TRS is shot and nothing past that sensor should affect my reverse light problem correct?
I had it lined up perfectly from neutral when I installed it a year ago and am having a hard time believing this sensor crapped out on me! It was new from the dealer and actually quite expensive.
Hi guys.

Do these fail often?
They don't fail that often but if you're absolutely sure you don't have chaffed or otherwise failed wiring somewhere in that circuit it could very well be the TRS device. If it came from the dealership Ford & Motorcraft have a 2 year warranty assuming you have the original receipt of sale. Contact a dealership to obtain the full details on how to receive another part.

I was working on them yesterday and tested a few wires at the rear end, which should be properly reconnected and resolved by today, I found some chaffed wires by the harness at the back. Would the jump wire in TRS still trigger the lights even though the wiring at the back needs some TLC? I'm just so stumped I honestly haven't seen the reverse lights come on pretty much since I've owned it, the new LEDS just got there first use yesterday. I am also not 100% on how that circuit works with the TRS
So in other words you're not working from a schematic correct? If that's the case here's one to have, keep and hang onto as long as you own that van: 2003 EVTM That's about a stupid good deal, if I didn't already have several of that year I'd grab this one myself.
