Ever since i bought the beast, I never really put much attention into the reverse sensor issue. Every time i place the ex in reverse i get a solid beep.. i could turn it off with the button. The rear sensors are clean and never seen any harsh weather... It sat in my garage for about 7 years only been turned every week and driven around the block every month. Now that i started to drive it on a daily basis this reverse sensor issue has come up on my to do fix it list.. Any ideas? what could be the problem? I also noticed that on cold mornings the reverse sensors work flawlessly? idk kinda weird..
You need to get it scanned, (good scanner like Auto Enginuity or Snap-On, etc) and find out which sensor(s) isn't working. Then check the wires to make sure the circut is working, and if the wiring is good, replace the bad sensor. I have 2 bad ones on mine... I just don't care enough to replace them. If one is bad, the whole system won't work.
Many threads on fixing this problem.
Quick in dirty, with the truck not running engage the emergency break and place the truck in reverse. Now place your finger on each sensor. The sensor make a clicking/ticking sound which can be felt with your finger. The clicking/ticking could be felt in all of my sensors except one. I replaced that sensor and it started working. I purchased the sensor on Ebay. It could not be working for reasons other than the sensor. So, search for the other threads on this topic.
