For me, the term 5150 added more meaning yesterday. For the longest time, 5150 was a term used by law enforcement to indicate they had a person (perhaps a suspect, perhaps a perpetrator) who was suspected of having a mental issue. Then I met our friend from San Francisco who adopted the moniker; it made it lighter, more free.
Yesterday, the term 5150 can now be used to describe our US Senate, for that number now represents the balance of power (or influence if you prefer).
It also now describes our so-called commander in chief. We've come full circle.
CA Welfare and Institutions Code 5150 allows for a 72 hour involuntary detention if a person is a danger to himself or others. By that definition, most politicians are eligible for 3 days in the nut house. I don't like politicians in general, favor following any political party line, and I have my own crazy ideas on what this country should be like.
To say the least, I was shocked that the Capitol Police did not have a perimeter established, lacked the man power and equipment to hold their line, and lost control of their building that easily. I am impressed, though. More lives weren't lost. A few thousand came to peacefully protest. A few hundred were ready to be patriot martyrs, willing to fight for what they believe America should be. I just feel that a physical perimeter should have been established away from the building, with a defendable zone. Nobody should have been able to walk up to the door and walk in.
Unreal. According to the 5150 definition I would say 90% of Congress would be picked up for 3 days in the nuthouse. And trump would definitely qualify. As for the Denmark "kids" show, that is just wrong, on so many levels I can't even comprehend how it got approval from whatever censor department they have over there.

Me too. I'm constantly a danger to other people. At any given time, there's at least 1 person I am mad at. I could be dangerous to. Plenty of people I would punch. With good reason. Any number of ex wives, ex girlfriends, people who owe me money, people who slept with my ex, family and/or friends who have done something unforgivable.......3 motives for murder are love, hate, and money. Does that make me crazy? Or just normal? I would guess that for most people, there's someone that you want to kick in the pants.
No question the capitol police muffed it Wednesday. Now in addition to the woman shot to death, there were 3 others who had medical emergencies and died. Plus I heard last night one of the capitol police died as a result of the festivities. and finally, something on the order of 50-60 capitol police were listed as injured.

For the record, I did not partake in subversive activities at the Capitol. My picture is not on FBI posters.
Those people had no direction, objective, or goal. They rushed into the building, and accomplished nothing. It appears like most were just caught up in being part of a mob. Nobody emerged as a leader. No organization.
Mitch McConnell doesn't want to speak to Trump again.
And even more bizarre, an elected law maker took part in the chaos.
He wasn't the only one. Apparently there were 6 legislators from different states who took part in the "march" or whatever you want to call it.
I heard on NPR this morning that there is "tons" of information about who took part, as their social media pages are filled with their bragging about what they did. Intelligence is not their main asset.

This is not the conventional criminal act. Most participants believe that they are patriots, doing exactly what needs to be done, to save the country. They are proud to fight for "justice". They believe an election was stolen, and they sought to stop it from happening. There's pride in being part of protecting their version of "democracy".
