Hello All,
I got a read out today on my 87 f150, 302 with auto. trans.
The trouble codes I got were:
MAP sensor out of range and
TPS voltage below minimum.
I recently replaced the TPS and the truck seemed to run o.k but I just bought a code reader and thought I would run a check and those two codes came up.
My questions are:
Can the MAP sensor be brought back into range or does it have to be replaced?
What effect does the MAP sensor have on the performance?
How do I get the minimum voltage to the TPS up to where it should be?
I just got this truck a few weeks ago and I am trying to work the bugs out of it. I get about 12 mpg on the average. Does that sound about right for this truck with a C6 auto trans?
Make sure you are reading the codes correctly. All the codes should be two digits on your truck. I'm not sure if you made a typo in the title or not, but just be aware of this before you shell out a lot of money for a new MAP sensor if the other one is still good.
