When I go to start the truck I get the message "starting system failure" and no crank or start, but all the electronics work fine. If I use the remote start the truck starts up fine and everything works until I put the key it and turn to ON, then the same failure message comes up and the truck turns off. Batteries and fairly new and the problem occurs with both key FOBs. Any help would be appreciated thanks!
If both keys are "bad", could indicate maybe a bad BCM or just the loss of PATs info in the BCM. Could also possibly be the PATS transceiver.
Here is the procedure for replacing it...
If the PATS Transceiver doesn't correct the problem, you will need to have the PATs reprogrammed. If you have access to FORScan and an OBDII, you can perform the key reprogram. If no access to FORScan, then you might need to get a mobile locksmith to come to your location and reprogram the PATs.
