Parasitic Battery Drain?

2005 F350 Lariat, 6.0 diesel, experiencing battery drain. Not using it much but not enough juice left after one week to use the door keypad. Batteries are only two months old. There's nothing plugged into the 12v outlets or anything installed. Help, I don't even know where to start.

Did you have the drain prior to swapping the batteries?

I think so, but I thought the three-year old batteries were failing and replaced them without having the alternator checked. I'm charging up the batteries and will do an alternator check this morning.

With your multi-meter in ammeter mode, check the DC ampere draw on the batteries with the truck parked.

However. before reading the amp draw shut it off and let it sit so everything shuts down for about 30 minutes, then check the draw.

While checking the draw at the battery, start popping fuses out until you eliminate the draw. Now you will know what circuit is the culprit.
