Help with rims please

Hello everybody, I’m going to be changing my rims soon from the 16x10 DCs that are in it. I can’t stand the way they stick out of the fenders and throw mud all over. Thinking of going to a 17” or 18” Rim. Depending on what has more tire size options. I will be running a 35”x12.50” tire. What is a good rim size and offset for the Excursion that looks good but doesn’t stick the tires way out? I also don’t want them to rub on the leafs either. Thanks a bunch

Also just a little more info. It has a 4” lift with a leveling kit too. I’m leaning towards Cooper SST Pros if anybody has experience with them? The Nitto muds I had on it were louder than Super Swampers Lol. Kids said it sounded like an airplane

17x9 with 4.5” bs should keep the 12.5” sst from flinging crap on your mirrors.

fyiw I have the 12.5 wide 40” sst on 17x9 with a 4” lift and they tuck inside the fender lip just fine

Thanks for your help. So your saying I’d be crazy not to get 37” Tires? Haha

So here’s what I’m thinking now. 37”x12.50 Coopers on a 17x9 rim with 4.5” backspacing. Does anybody run this combo? No rubbing on leaf springs? I’m not too worried about the 37”s rubbing the inner fenders. I’ll move the axle forward an inch and trim the bumper if necessary. Thanks

Will likely rub leafs at lock but you can always add a steering stop if it bugs you that much.

Does anybody know what the minimum backspacing would be for 37s not to rub the leaf springs?

I have that combo sitting in my garage except my rims have 4.25” backspacing. I haven’t finished gathering my parts for my lift so can’t confirm on leaf rub but I’m sure it will be there as others have confirmed it with there set ups. I have 285/75/16 Cooper atw on stock saggy suspension and I rub at full lock when I occasionally forget I can’t turn that far but it hasn’t been enough to make me want to add steering stops. I might feel differently about it once the 37s are on the ex.

Thanks for your help. I have 35x12.50s on right now that don’t rub my springs but they stick out so far they toss mud everywhere.
