NEed help with rims

Just bought mickey thomson 38.5x15.5r16's and need help with the rims I'm not sure what size rims I can go with. I got a extremely good deal on these tires just need the rims now. Please let me know what size rims I need or can get away with...I was told only 16x12 inch rims will work? There going on my f350 once I lift it so the bolt pattern much be 8x170

Thanks for reading

Well obviously you're going to need 16in diameter rims, but width and backspacing will be very important with tires that wide. 16x12 would probably be the optimum width for a tire that wide, but I think you could probably get away with a 16x10 rim with the right backspacing. But that's probably the smallest and might even be pushing it a little. Just to be safe I would get the 16x12 and that will also give you the best wear characteristics for your new tires. What size lift are you planning on running?

Oh yeah, Welcome to FTE!

No problem. Yeah I forgot about that, that most people don't make a 16in rim anymore, especially a 16x12 one. But I did do a quick little search for you and found that Dick Cepek DC-2 wheels come in a 16x12 and that pretty much any of the Mickey Thompson classic or classic locks in polished or black also come in 16x12. Not sure if those are what your looking for, but theres a few, and I found a few in 16x10, but not many.

Yeah that 8in lift should be enough to clear them, but might be a little close especially with that wide of a tire. They will probably rub if you do any serious off-roading.

Not do down your choice, but what made you want to go with a 16 inch tire? Just got a good deal on them, or just like the look of the smaller rims. Just saying because probably even a 17in rim will open up your rim options a bit.

Oh man, shoot. Yeah I could only find the Mt classics in 16x12 in polished as well. The DC-2s are black with a machined face. Look pretty good, and are not really shiny like chrome, if that's what you're trying to avoid...

Sorry I must have been looking at an old website before, but I just checked Dick Cepek's website and it says that the DC-2's are only available in 16x10. Sorry about that. I'll keep looking.

Yeah there ya go. You could definitely do that. And that's not too bad at all for those rims. That's probably one good thing about the 16s is that they're cheap. A bigger rim in 12in width would probably be a lot more expensive. Sorry, I guess they don't make many 16x12 rims anymore.

YES I have. Those are very rare rim, that is hard to find, because Weld doesn't make them anymore. I'm pretty sure that they are a very high quality rim, and I think they look great. If he's selling them at a good price I would definitely jump on them.

Hmm, maybe those are leftovers, because I would have sworn that Weld wasn't making rims, or at least ones like that anymore. But who knows I could be wrong. I'm not sure if that's a good price for those or not, but if it sounds good to you and you like them, then it might not be a bad deal. I'm sure its probably less than buying new directly from a dealer.

I went to Weld Racing's website and they don't have 16" rims listed.
