I made the dreaded mistake of frying my PCM while running some wires under the dash and pulled the chip out accidentally while the key was in the ignition. I don't have the wait to start light so assuming she is fried pie. My PCM is a DPC-422 from an 01 7.3 4x4 truck.
I have looked online and found repair services for 150, replacements for 475. I would love to find a used unit for a cheaper price if possible but need to know what models will work with the original 422 PCM. Lots of info on the site but hard to decipher some of it. ANY help would be appreciated!

As I mentioned in your other thread, talk to Jonathan at DTC. You mentioned WTS light...have you checked Fuse 30 (pre 2002) maybe you just blew the fuse. You may just get super lucky!!! While you’re in the disconnect the fuel bowl heater.
Unfortunately, the fuse is still good to go. I know when the incident occurred and it was the chip being pulled out while the key was in the ignition I will definitely call DTC if I can not find a used unit. At the moment 200 is a lot easier on me than 500 for the PCM but I may have no choice.
Another under $400 option is car-parts<dot> for a used unit.
The computer appears under the parts drop-down as 'Engine Computer'. Next it will show a list of all potential computers where "Electronic Control Module, (LH firewall), 8-445 (7.3L, diesel), injection control, ID XC3F-12B599-AD" looks like it is for our trucks with the AD (and AE) injectors. When calling about the part, just ask for details of the donor vehicle and to also make sure that the transmission matches what you have.
