Looks like Ive found the issue. Its been awhile since Ive been able to work on it. I decided to replace everything under the pan with fresh valve bodies, solenoid pack, gasket etc. Went to vaseline the check ***** in and found that my transmission isnt a 96. Its a 90-95 that someone rebuilt and installed a 96+ valve body in. And the first check ball you run into thats different affects 1st and reverse. Wonderful. Now Im ordering older valve body set.
