Fuel Guage
I just bought an early 1999 F250 Super Duty 7.3 and when you turn the key on the fuel guage goes to full. I unplugged the sending unit and it still goes to full. Every once in a while it will read correctly but most of the time it reads full. Is there anything else to check before I drop $900.00 on a new sending unit?

Check the wiring from the fuel tank sending unit to the front of the truck..there is a bare spot on the wire/harness that is touching the metal frame. A fuel gauge will read full with you ground the wire and empty when the circuit is open or high resistance.
