Guys, looking through the following for my Ex., winch ready and more protective than the stock stuff is all I'm really looking for. Occasionally pulling people out of ditches around here, and using for other stuff around our properties also.
Iron Cross
Hammerhead
Smitty built
....and a few others. I wasn't wanting to pick up bumpers yet due to Cummins conversion stuff I'm working on, but....40% off is a bit hard to pass up. Bypassing painted bumpers, and prefer black powder coated.
Most of the front bumpers I can sort out just fine, but the rear fitment is the bigger question, having seen gaps and strange fits from various brands.
Any good recommendations based on real life experience. Not sure whether for the front I want to protect the full front clip or just raised bull bar.
If you know how to weld check out Move Bumpers. Cool way to save a few bucks and looks to be pretty good stuff.
I got a Move kit last Black Friday....you had better know how to fit/miter/cope round tubes in to angled flat surface, and be a fairly competent welder.
My kit was on the order of $700. Then I spent the better part of a week (part timing it) fitting on the truck and fitting the brush guard portion. Plan on spending some time with a grinder and in my case, a 4" belt sander. Oh, now that the thing is welded up, you have to choose what you are going to do for a coating. (rattle can, bed liner, powdercoat, etc.)
I went with powdercoat, and I had them match the Raptor grille color.....but they need to sandblast prior to powdercoat....so after they do that....you hand them a check for $550.

$1250 all said and done? You can get a Ranch Hand for less than that. Yours looks very nice though. Excellent work!

I don't generally like the full brush guards, but that looks pretty darn nice!
here is one pretty close to that, use discount code RANCH50 for $50 off and has free shipping.
Also look for a little button on the site down around the bottom left that only appears every few visits that also offers you $25 bucks off for signing up for their newsletter/alerts.
considering picking this guy up for my Excursion, the rear bumper leaves something to be desired for durability and looks compared to my ranch hand front bumper... https://bumpersuperstore.com/i-23908...2000-2005.html
This is with the swing arms closed. I’ve got two (2) boxes (one for each swing arm) to hold a seven (7) gallon cylinder fuel tank and Honda generator.
This is with the swing arms open. Each arm is rated at 150 lbs. The tolerance between the Ex’s frame and mounting plates of the bumper is so close, the bumper actually scraped the undercoating off the truck when installing it. Can you say “tight.”
Welds are very uniform. Couldn’t be happier.
For the front, I’m saving my pennies for a Buckstop Outback. It has a aluminum option, for weight reduction, and designed for a Warn 16.5 winch. I plan on mounting a pair of Rigid spots in the two (2) light holes.
Good luck with your selection.
