New to the site, so sorry if this has been asked. I just read slamdunkpro's post about his accident and how he just had gotten finished doing all the work to it. I'm in a similar situation. I bought mine roughly two years ago and have put in tons of money into this thing. New Ford fuel ready motor, ac system front/back, radiator, entire brake system, all new suspension, entire front end and all steering components. In the works are new trans and driveshaft. Interior is immaculate. I have reciepts for all the parts. Is there a certain insurance company or policy to ask for to be able to cover this beast. Hope I didn't just jinx myself!! Knock on wood, my last fender bender was 20 years ago so I'm sure I'm do for one.
Years ago when I had show cars you could purchase a fixed value policy where you set the value. Other than being expensive your annual mileage was very limited. Bottom line is if you get hit you're going to get bluebook on a 20 year old vehicle. Your improvements might get you another $1,000 to 2,000 dollars. Sucks but that's the way it is
Thankfully book value is up for the time being!! Lol I drive it like fine China although, I have confidence in my own self driving skills it's the other people I worry about driving this Tampa Bay traffic. I got the pig looking good and I'd hate to see her all messed up. Appreciate the guidance.
I asked someone at my insurance company (USAA) a while back about a "stated value" policy for my EX. I think the answer was something to the effect of "not on something this new". They only do them for antique and vintage cars. Your milage may vary, so keep us posted if you go looking.

Yikes that US 19 traffic is the worst, not to mention all the blue hairs. Nearly as bad as Puerto Rico.!

That's a horrible way to get from near Tampa to Tally. The fastest route is to jump on 75 and make a left turn when you hit I-10. The most relaxing route is to take 589 (toll road) to 98 near Brooksville and pick up 19/27 from there. Bonus if you stop for lunch/dinner in Crystal River as they have a couple of outstanding seafood restaurants that aren't too hard on the wallet.
