2002 Explorer key pad code

Hello all. Long time forum member but all my experience is on the F 250 forum. I just bought a 2002 Explorer XLT as a knock around vehicle to save miles on my new F 250. A VIN check shows it as a one owner vehicle, but of course there's no owner's manual or SecuriCode card in it with the keypad combo.
First off, let me say that I won't be taking it to a dealer because this little problem is simply not that important to me. So let's not waste each other's time with that suggestion. The fobs work just fine. If I locate the combo, great. If not, the sun will come up tomorrow. With that out of the way, is there someplace on the vehicle where the code is located? I remember seeing someplace a long time ago that other Fords had a module someplace with a code decal on them. Behind one of the kick panels someplace possibly?
Thanks for any assistance.

You might check out the link from this thread for suggestions on where to look. There are a lot of posts, some with conflicting information. Info on 2002 seems to start around post #27. I cannot confirm which, if any, of the location descriptions are accurate since I never had a 2002. Anymore I hook up my scan tool and pull out the keypad code from that.

Will give a look. Thanks! My scan stuff is not that sophisticated.

Within that link, here was the answer:
"I have a 2002 Explorer and the location of my keyless code was behind the right C-pillar panel (the one next to the rear seat). You need to fold down the rear seat, remove the upper C-pillar plastic panel, and then seperate the lower pertion away from the C-pillar, you will see a black box with a label, that is where I found my code. be careful as the plastic pieces are a little tricky to get back into place without breaking any of the fasteners"

Thank you!

This worked on my 2004 Explorer. I took my time as I worried about breaking the plastic, but found it and it worked.
