Did you try the locations suggested in the Sticky from the Explorer main page - Links for Helpful Information?
If you've checked all of those areas and were unable to find the code, then you're probably stuck with visiting your favorite repair shop, dealership, or locksmith and having them retrieve the 5-digit code via their scan tool. Oh, also check the owner's manual (if you have it) to see if there's either a credit card sized card with the code or maybe someone hand-wrote the code on one of the pages of the manual about how to use or set the code.
