2002 Explorer keypad
I bought a 2002 explorer a couple years ago and the key less entry code was not given when it was purchased used. I looked up where to find the code behind the passenger side rear door seat belt panel. However the keypad will not work. The lights come on and when the bottom two buttons are pressed the doors will lock, so the keypad clearly works however the numbers I have gotten are not working. Has anyone had this problem and knows how to fix it? I'd rather not take it to the manufacturer due to they will charge me an arm and a leg for it.

Are you sure you read off the correct 5-digit code?
About the only other option I'm aware of would be to find a shop or friend with a professional scan tool, access the security module, and read off the 5-digit code from the scan tool.
