I have a79 with factory ac.the blower motor is going bad, and I can get a parts house one, but they seem to not run quite as hard as original. Does anyone know if there is a better or worse choice for these? I am sure a motocraft is great if I can locate one. Thanks.
Maybe have it rebuilt if you can find a shop that can rebuild electrical motors , I know back in the day there were shops that did alt , an starters an any style motor with windings , I know City Electric Motor Co. in my area can repair DC an AC motors , they rebuilt and or sale new and I have had larger 3 phase motors rebuilt this way but pretty sure they do smaller ones as well . Wouldn't hurt to check your area for a shop as nothing new these days is like original
If it hasn't been growling for long you can drill a small hole on each end of the motor at the motors top just above center. Make it just big enough to get a oil squirt can in and give it maybe two squirts, it doesn't take much to fill up the bushings oil wick then just fill the hole over with silicone. I know it's a pia to change one with ac but they seem to run fine again after getting some oil in their wicks. Picture is not so good but you can still see the hole I drilled.
