Hello all. I am trying to chase down what is causing my truck to smoke. I have noticed it more the last few days since the temperature dropped (~30*). I've had the truck for 2 years now, and it's currently at 2013 with 130k, has been on a diet prior to buying it. Ever since I bought it always had a haze at idle, regardless of temp, I figured it was because of mods. I've noticed the last few days it has been puffing white/bluish smoke when letting off the throttle, even up to warm temp (oil temp 190). It will let out a big puff and only when letting off the throttle, not at idle or while cruising.
I don't see any coolant loss or discoloration, no leaks. Pulled the oil cap and "normal" amount of blow by. The smoke smells like fuel and not a coolant or oil smell. I used forscan and monitored the injectors and the fuel balance are within +/- 1.5mg and fuel quantity are within 0.3mg of each other. The truck runs great, no hesitation, never skips a beat.
I'm scratching my head with this one, I'm not sure if I'm just chasing my own tail but I would like to find the issue before it becomes a bigger issue. It doesn't seem like it's an injector sticking, I have seen trucks with bad injectors that have a smoke screen behind them and billowing smoke. No codes at all.
This is the best I can find to illustrate the color of the smoke, first 15 seconds of the video.
hard to tell but it appears white but there was a hint of blue, white is coolant, blue is fuel. what does is smell like?, coolant will have a kinda sweet bitter smell.
are all your fluids at the correct level?
