Question 1994 7.3l idi f250 Excessive white smoke?

I recently replace the injector pump and fuel lines due to bad pump. Just before I did there was white smoke I thought after I got all my fuel problems straightened out that the white smoke would disappear if not thin out at least. Once I got it started I smoked out a good portion of my street so I retarded my injection timing thinking that it was over spraying and there is still an excessive amount of white smoke. I think there might be some additives still in the tank from the summer but I don't think that would cause that much smoke.

Another thing is I have a major power loss, my tranny is filled up but its shifting at 2700 rpm's and nothing is wrong with the tranny so I'm thinking a couple of the injectors are stuck open and over spraying causing the white smoke. Let me know what you think ideas or tips to a solution would be greatly appreciated, Thanks

after running it for a while, feel each of the injector lines. If one or two are noticeably warmer than the others, those injectors are not sealing. That will allow combustion gases back inside the injector and will warm it up. It will also allow fuel in when its not supposed to.

Along with what John said, check your oil for fuel dilution, check radiator for oil.

Does the smoke smell like fuel? Does it burn your eyes? Does the smoke have an antifreeze
smell to it? Are you loosing any coolant?

I'll warm it up later and check the injectors, thanks john

And the fuel smells like unburnt diesel, not a sweet coolant smell I'm really hoping it's not a blown head gasket

Pretty hard starting usually needs a spray of some WD-40

Might have a burned out glow plug or two. Wonder what kind of compression you've got.

Do you unhook the glow plugs or at least wait for them to completely cool before spraying the WD?
