Does anybody have issues with the Sync3 system? I have a brand new 2020 F250 Tremor (bought in August) and I've had quite a few issues with the stereo. After turning on the truck and booting up a lot of the time it takes forever for the stereo to really be "normal". As in, it tunes to whatever satellite radio station I was on last but some of the times I can't change the channel or if I do change the channel, the display doesn't change with it to show current channel & song info. It did this for the first time back in September on a long road trip. For a couple of hours we couldn't switch the channels, change sources, anything. Screen was completely locked up. Even pulled over to the side of the road and turned the truck off and back on, that didn't work. Let it sit for a couple of minutes off, that didn't work. Ever since then it's given me problems. Sometimes I'll be driving and the screen will just turn black and reboot itself. One day last week I turned the truck on and it didn't come on at all and I couldn't see my backup camera (I was trying to hook up to my travel trailer). After a few restarts of the truck it finally started working.
Unfortunately this has been going on pretty much since I bought it at the end of August. Some days it's fine, some days it's not. I'll probably have Ford look at it on my first service visit, but looking to make sure there's not a software update that might fix it.
I am unsure what version my sync 3 is at, my father was exploring settings in it and we set up the AT&T hotspot feature and he mentioned that there was an option for auto update of firmware and he thinks there was a message at one point that said it had updated but I would need to look myself to confirm.
I have my hotspot activated in the truck and auto update is on. I just don't think they do updates that often. And I feel like if this was a software issue, more people would be having problems.
