Sync 3 Issues
About 4 months ago I started having issues with my Sync 3 system where it was very slow, it would take 5 seconds + to show up on the screen when I would change volume, tune to a different station, change temperature, click on the touch screen to go to a different app etc. It would also throw the GPS out of whack and I got a symbol showing no GPS, it would lose complete track of where I was driving after 2 or 3 minutes and never catch back up. It also would show I was going the complete opposite direction I was actually going (North vs South). It would also continually connect and disconnect my blue tooth phone connection. Finally in late September while I was driving my Sirius radio reset and showed I had no subscription. This was weird as I had prepaid until June of '20. I called and they got my subscription turned back on but they couldn't figure out why my subscription was canceled. When they turned it back on they did not turn on the Sirius travel link that shows traffic on the navigation. To my surprise my unit started working flawlessly with the travel link turned off. Fast forward to 2 weeks ago and somehow my traffic got turned back on. Now my screen is doing the same thing freezing all the time. I've tried finding a way to turn off the traffic but I've had no luck, I've also called Sirius to remove the traffic link but both times they've said they did and it's still there. Any suggestions??

You need a new APIM and the problems you listed are some of the symptoms other owners experienced before their APIM was replaced.
This is a well know issue and most if not all Ford dealers will know about it.
You’re going to have to take your vehicle in so they can see the problem.
Do you have a Ford ESP?
If not, you’re going to have to come out of your pocket for an amount between $700.00-$1K.
Some people will tell you to do a soft or master reset of the SYNC 3 system and afterwards, the system might start working normally but it doesn’t last and the symptoms will come back.
Do you have an unlimited cell phone plan?
If so, just use Apple CarPlay or Android Auto and do everything through your phone.
Before I had my APIM replaced, I just used Apple CarPlay and the touch screen worked flawlessly but acted crazy when I tried to use the SYNC 3 features.
If it needs a new APIM, Ford has to approve it first before they order one.
