In August I took ownership of a F250 with the sync 3 so I know how it works. In the F250 it was fast to boot and touching any of the buttons on the touch screen offered a quick response and change. I.e. If you are on the radio and push the home button you are immediately at the home screen. There is no delay.
Today I bought an F150 (long story) and it too has the sync 3. They are like different systems. When starting the truck the screen takes 10-15 seconds or so to boot and get to a menu screen. aka. radio, home etc.
If I'm on the radio and I push the home button as outlined above again there is a few second delay before the screen will even switch.
Is this normal? The truck was built in October 2019 so the firmware should be the latest. I would also assume sync in an F250 is the same as a F150 but they aren't performing the same for responsiveness.

Thoughts???
Thanks for the help.
I hate to tell you this but you ”might"need a new APIM or just an update.
Go to on the Ford owner website and check for an update on your vehicle.
I have a 2017 F250 King Ranch Super Duty with 70k miles. My APIM has gone out, thankfully I paid out the nose for a warranty but this is VERY disburbing on a truck that cost this much with so few miles. This is my 5th Ford truck, I am considering another brand going forward based on this as I have lost confidence after something like this, what the heck will be next?

Regardless of the “cost” of any and every type of vehicle on the road, new or used, any and every part on any vehicle can fail at anytime regardless if the vehicle has 1 mile on it or 150K miles.
Glad to hear that your APIM replacement is working well and said repair was covered via your ESP.
Then why would one problem would you want to jump ship? The way you were talking I thought it must have spent a lot of time in the shop. My 2018 Has had 2 minor recalls and I have less than 14,000 on it. My 2015 actually had no recalls and ran like a top.I still am not thinking of changing brands. Maybe you should join a Ram or GM site and read up on their problems.
