CarPlay and Sync3 volume issues

Anyone else really into a scenario where you can not change the volume when plugged into CarPlay and on XM?

Frequently I am unable to change volume when my phone is plugged in to leverage CarPlay.

I always notice the issue when I’m using XM. The behavior continues if I switch to FM or AM source.

Behavior stops when I unplug the phone.

Today, I noticed the behavior when I plugged in the phone before starting the truck... but I can not duplicate the behavior.

I think this started suddenly sometime in Feb, so I figured the truck received an OTA update. With Covid, just forgot about it.

Anyone else see this?

Hmmm, that’s a new one.

Have you tried a Master Reset of the SYNC 3 system?

Sometimes when this is done, the strange problems that you’re having will be rectified.

Do you know how to do the Master Reset?

Do a search on the latest Waze app update and volume/speaker issues. It’s been wreaking havoc with CarPlay and multiple vehicle infotainment systems. I ended up deleting Waze till they find a fix.

That would likely be the common thread. I use Waze quite a bit. Thanks a bunch.

saw that documented somewhere. Based on the other reply about Waze, I can handle the issue better now that I know the cause.
