Brakes Dragging

Apparently, this is not my week. Another brake issue.
Have a 99 Explorer Limited 5.0 awd. Replaced the pads, rotors, calipers, and wheel bearings. Something is dragging and making it difficult to accelerate. The brakes on both sides get very hot after only a short drive.
There was a hum in the wheels so i replaced the bearings. The hum is still there but not as loud. Did I over tighten the axle nut?
The caliper locked on one side and ground down the rotor so they all got replaced. I did not replace the caliper hangers.

Seems like you have a few things going on here, brakes, bearings.
I would jack up each wheel front and back and see which wheel or wheels are dragging. Go from there.

Thanx for your reply.
The brakes on both sides seem to get hot after a short drive but it seemed like it was pulling the truck to the right more when driving.
I will jack it up and check but it may be a few days.
If I take the calipers off and squeeze the cylinders back in, would that make a difference?

I don't see that you replaced brake hoses. Brake hoses can fail internally and act like a one-way valve, causing the brakes to drag. Usually the outward appearance of the hoses shows no sign of the internal damage. One common cause for this type of brake hose damage is letting the calipers hang by the hoses when working on the brakes or other front end work that requires removing the brake caliper.

No, didnt replace the hoses cause they looked ok but maybe you are on to something there.
I recently just replaced all the hoses on my 78 F150 and they looked original so i figured the 99 Explorer should be fine. But i guess they dont make anything like they used to.

If you try to compress the calipers and it's difficult, then try cracking open the bleeder screw while compressing. If with the bleeder cracked open they now compress easily, the problem is very likely to be a restricted brake hose. Compressing the calipers by themselves won't help since the first few pumps of the brake pedal will extend the caliper pistons again.
