I noticed under load my truck doesn't even roll a hint of smoke. It is stock as far as i know (bought used), except for an exhaust. I come from an Old IDI that I had it where it was haze a bit (kept it under 1050 egt), and I haven't seen this truck haze any at all. I was wondering if this was normal. Truck starts well and runs good.
You put that ATF in the fuel, not the oil, I hope, Les.
The clue is the word 'tank', good clean ATF and oil in the tank. all it good.
As a side bar.... it costs 500.00 to remove and flush diesel out of a gasser system at the sDealer. We buy gas at 35 gallons at a time. For some brain fart of a reason I 'though' that I had gasoline in my yeller 5gal fuel container.... nope.... 15 miles later mamma's car did not want to go (or start).... Mamma was not happy when I told her what 'someone' did to her car..... still looking for someone to take responsibility to that goof up
As the fellas have said, that is normal and a good thing!
Some people put additives in the fuel, some put 2 stroke oil and some put ATF in the fuel. I used to run Stanadyne Lubricity, but stopped doing so after I retired and am a strict budget. Truck seems to run the same and doesn't use any more oil or fuel than it did before.
These are great engines and can last a long time if they are maintained well. I have been running Rotella T6 5w40 for the past 7 years, but I am going to switch to TSC Traveller 15w40 for my next change as I ran out of my stockpiled T6 that I got on sale years ago.
