I agree with you except that deleted trucks on the road are not the tiny percent as in your ATV example. I would guess that deleted trucks that are used exclusively for off road use are the tiny percent of all trucks deleted. Unfortunately its the deleted on-road trucks that have ruined it for the true off roaders. I could be wrong as I don't know what the actual numbers are but doubt the EPA would pursue it if the number of deleted on road trucks was a tiny percent.

If you think about it, it's the end user that should technically be held responsible not the company making the products. But then again gun manufacturers get sued if someone commits mass murder with their products. Man our country is so screwed up right now.....

Agreed, there are many products that can be used illegaly, ever read the the label on something that says " it is illegal to use this product in a manor inconsistent with its labeling" or something to that effect? Delete equipment and tunes should be no different, they should me marketed for closed course competition use only and it shouldn't be the companys responsibility if the customer doesn't follow the rules.

Exactly... but seems everyone loves the nanny state and personal responsibility be damned...

Most think the EPA was established to protect us serfs... nope all to protect corporations...

GM installed highly encrypted security on the L5P duramax starting in 2017 and guess what it wasn't too long before the aftermarket found away around it. It does require physical modification to the PCB and adds costs but they can tune the newer duramax trucks. The 2020 Fords can be tuned as well. Many have already tuned their 2020s. Currently you can flash the TCM via OBD but the PCM needs to be flashed straight to the PCM with the correct hardware. Personally I'm keeping my DPF intact on my 2020 but I will be altering the tuning eventually for a bump in power. Also the oem TCM calibration had been **** so far.

I don’t think you have to be a liberal to think there should be some control on what other people do that pollutes the earth we all share. Sometimes the requirements seem unreasonable, yes. But to take the position that everyone should be free to do what they wish, regardless of the impact on everyone else is absurd.

I agree. When taking care of this home that we will eventually give our children becomes a topic of contention, then too much has been politicized.

Expected replies. Americans have zero ability of planetary husbandry as long as Africa, Mexico, china, India, Middle East, and Russia exist. Dpf’ s are ignorant under these circumstances. Period. Grow up.

If you're walking down the street and someone throws a wrapper on the ground, does that mean you should too? Even when I was overseas in some filthy places where people didn't care, I still felt an obligation to respect my surroundings to not needlessly pollute just because others were doing it.

Let's see. Country or continent X commits infraction Y. Therefore it is ethical for me to do Y too. Well, perhaps not ethical, but obviously permissible.

I'm reminded of the swimming pool model. If I understand you correctly it is OK to have a special pissing section in the pool. Have I misunderstood?

What is a "dpf"? In this forum dpf is usually diesel particulate filter.

And, without any understood context or heartfelt meaning " Period. Grow up.".

The average African is responsible for a fraction of a fraction of the pollution generated by you or me. You need to get some context before you tell other people to grow up.

The average African doesn’t have a pot to **** in but some of those African countries have zero f***s to give about what chemicals companies spew. The epa requires dpf’s on all our diesels causing an increase in hp and fuel consumption, not to mention all the plastic jugs for def(and the addition of def manufacturing), all the wile every one of your gadgets and rubber dog turds are made by American companies in china and Mexico to escape any environmental responsibilities, trading the low cost of manufacturing for the shipping expenses to get their products here.

The “I wont drop a wrapper on the ground but will support global toxic manufacturing” crowd applauds my 40hp mini excavator to have a dpf, that to me is childish in priorities, and counter productive. Deregulate logically.

Ford has been well aware this was coming for a long time (hence Ford Racing parts). Look at the new Bronco. Over 200 "aftermarket" parts installed at the factory or dealer. The Mustang as well. Auto manufacturers are not fighting this at all. In the end, they will be making a lot more money while the smaller parts manufacturers will suffer greatly.
