Mudsport - I did look for a 5.8 SD computer, however since the truck is a 4x4 manual, I haven't been able to locate a manual 5.8 SD computer at a good price. Plus with a megasquirt in the wings, it may not be worth it to locate one. I don't think there were many 5.8 manuals anyway?

Thanks for the info on what to look for, unfortunately even looking for the F250 C6 or MT, doesn't yield many available results in my area. I'll keep an eye out though. Depending on the cost, it may be easier to go straight to the Megasquirt if the 5.0 computer has issues.
On the intake side, I did some more looking and Speedmaster has what looks like an Edelbrock knockoff intake for approx $400. Listed as 1500 to 6500 rpm range, may be a good option if I find the stock 5.8 limits the engine. SpeedMaster Qualifier Intake
Had another Summit order this weekend as well. correct .001 undersize bearings and an oil cooler thermostat. I already have a remote filter setup and working on adding the needed items for a good oil cooler.
Also picked up paint for a respray on the car. Its the middle blue color.

Yes that is one of several different brand knockoffs that have been produced, I had one from a company called Professional Products. The exterior finish on these is not as nice as the Eddy but that doesn't impact airflow and the port shape of these is far superior to the stock 5.8 intake.
Measured out the first replacement rod and ended up using the .001 undersize bearing. Got the clearance to be .0015 - .0017, as the journal measured out at pretty much 2.309 - 2.310 and the .001 undersize bearing read .0015 above 2.310. I'll double check my math with plastigage once I install the rod as well.

Side note to OP. You might do well to get the thing up & running more/less correctly factory style before going to aftermarket.
I know you were speaking to the OP, not me, but I'm going straight from 4.9L with Ford ECU straight to 5.8L with PimpX. I had considered getting a factory 5.8L Ford ECU to get it up and running before swapping to PimpX, but I'm trying to avoid having to buy an ECU that I don't intend to run long term... So, I plan to jump in "whole-hog" with the PimpX and see how it all works out.
I had planned to get it fired up and running on the factory 5.0 computer first. If I saw issues with the 5.0 tune on the modified 5.8, I was leaning towards a Megasquirt-II to replace the 5.0. Cost wise, it would be about the same as I have the ECU already and would only really need a wideband and possibly an adapter cable if I wanted to be lazy about wiring.
I did look at RockAuto, however unless I was missing something, pretty much all of them were for E4OD trans equipped vehicles. I did not see any referencing the C6 or a manual.
