So far so good

My '17 F150 just rolled over 30K miles and the bumper to bumper warranty is gone. Only back to the dealer twice and both times for oil change/tire rotation. This is the point where I usually trade but I think I'll keep this one another year or two.

if you are happy with it, no reason to change. The best value is usually the truck you already own.

My '15 is not far from 100K miles and I plan to keep it until one of us dies...... I'm 64 so I hope the truck goes first.

LOL! I'm 70, with the same year truck, so I have a 6-year lead on you!

30k miles, it's just broke in. Unless you have an itch for upgrade with electronics, it certainly is cheaper to keep her. A nice service record of little repairs indicates a solid truck that should get at least 100k miles of only routine maintenance.

My 2015 has 55k miles and is in great shape. I can’t see any reason to sell or trade other than a want for a new one. When I drive my wife’s Navigator, I really like the 3.5 HO/10 speed combo. Makes me want to go drive a Limited or Raptor, then I see my paid for truck and wonder why. I don’t want anything more than an XLT anyway. I could sell it for $7-8k less than what I paid 5 years ago, which is crazy. But there would be slim pickings on the lots or I would have to order a 2021 with limited rebates.

Such low miles.

It’s too late now but, you would have come out much better if you had purchased an 8 year 150K mile Ford Premium ESP before the warranty expired.

I've never purchased an extended warranty on a new vehicle. Some people swear by them and others, like me, consider them snake oil.

I'm 66 and I am thinking the same thing about my 2018. Especially since I ordered it so it has no exceptions, but exactly what I want.

Some people like warranties. They go in every time the hear a tick, feel a wobble or the windshield washers wont spray. And that’s fine. Just like we all don’t want the same options, we all don’t want a warranty. My belief is that I will break a defective part before the warranty expires. If it happens later, I will fix it myself or have it fixed at an independent shop that is more motivated to make it better vs putting the exact same failure prone part back on.

One thing I do see though that makes me wonder. Many people will buy an extended warranty and never keep the vehicle long enough to use it, always trading every 2-3 years. Yet they still feel it is some that they must have.

Yeah, I am not sure how long I'll keep the truck I just purchased. I declined the extended warranty and I will review that idea in a couple of years when I know if this is a truck I'm keeping.

My 2015 is just a bit past 55,000 miles. We recently drove to Lake Tahoe from the Bay Area, and she clocked 21.5 MPG going up to ~~ 7,000' elevation (or about that). I was quite surprised, as I was used to getting 18-19 MPG around town. I was even more surprised going from Lake Tahoe back down to the Bay Area (and we live in the mountains on the peninsula) when we got 24.5 coming home (it was actually around 28 MPG until we came across the San Joaquin Valley). It feels like it is just broken in at this clock setting. Do what makes you feel comfortable, because that's what it's all about.

My 2015 has 86K on it. I think i pout 3K on it this year due to sitting in the driveway and work from home due to covid. I am happy with it. I have the 5.0 and its lifted. So my milegae are not as good. But knew that going in.

Same here. And quite frankly I do not purchase brand new anymore. Closest I get to new these days is CPO (Certified Pre-Owned)
