2 post lift

Looking for suggestions for a two post lift. Will use it for my F150, F350SRW and side by sides. Any suggestions on brands and capacity? What does a SRW diesel weigh? 8500? Thanks

This is the one I have in my home shop. Bought it last year to replace my old 7k rotary lift. Make sure you get one that is ALI certified.

If you can afford it, look at Mohawk. Made right here in New York.

I had my eye on one until I thought better about how much I will use it given I’m effectively a hobbiest.... now I’m thinking the atlas PVL-10 which is ALI certified.

The Atlas is a nice lift, I did the Bendpack because of the pricing I got. The local dealer did 3400 installed with tax and an additional 2 year warranty.

What ever brand you buy, make sure the pad extensions are high enough so that the arms will clear the bottom of running board when pads are
contacting the lift points.

I have a 10K Atlas, and have had all 3 of your vehicles mentioned on it before, no issues.

Rotary all the way. I think I would look at a 12K lift for a diesel truck. I like a little margin of safety!

Atlas 12K Extra Wide/Extra Tall here. I believe it was PV-12P....(Not sure on the part #) I do everything from my golf cart to my dually. Love it.

Long time BendPak customer -- very reliable and 60mth/24mth/12mth warranties on components

On mounting -- at least 6" of M25 (compressive mix >3500 psi) concrete. I had to cut out floor sections in one of my barns as the concrete wasn't up to par in spite of the fact we often parked large CDL-rated rigs in there. If retrofit is required I'd recommend minimum 48" x 48" mounting pads / piers (M30 min grade, higher if available), 12"-18" deep with #8 rebar and 6" compressed stone (e.g. #57) as base, also horizontally tie these pad/piers into adjacent / existing (I use Milwaukee hammer drills). Use 1-foot lengths of #4 rebar (4" depth holes in existing concrete) to tie the new pad/piers into existing concrete to better deal with dead loads from the lift and hydrostatic loads from ground water pressure.

Plan on 12' of overhead height (min). If you plan on doing any tranny work (with mobile tranny jacks), I'd avoid the floor plate models, stick with an overhead connect between columns.

Also, keep in mind why you need to lift the vehicle. Is it for routine oil/fluid changes and tire rotation/brake work or do you need a lift for major repair/fabrication. I use a BendPak low-rise lift for my vette and CanAm. I also use a bench lift for the Gold Wing. I wanted the 10k low-rise but at that time, I could not get it delivered to residential (they do now) so I went with the 6k lift. I park the vette over it when not in use so it’s not in the way. Again, just throwing out another option if you are limited on space or may not need to do extensive repair work. The 10k would be perfect for my trucks as the trucks don’t need lifted for oil/fluid changes but it would make tire rotations so much easier.

I had a Rotary 9K lb 2 post lift at my previous house but installed a Challenger CL10 10K lb 2 post lift when I built my current house.
It is 12' tall so I can't lift some vehicles as high as I would like.
Sam's and Costco both use this same lift so I expect it has proven the test of time.

I just finished my shop and installed another Challenger CL10 lift with 14' height so I can drive through it to get out the back of the shop.
The distance between the lift arms is 105" so it can get tight for some trailers, campers, etc but it works.

I tied the top of each lift column to the I-beam building truss structure just to give it more support.
These columns don't move!
My concrete contractor was not the most trustworthy so I don't know that I got the 3000psi concrete I specified.
I drilled 6" deep for the anchors and did not break through the bottom side of the concrete so I have at least a 6" think slab.

The Challenger lifts have been very reliable.

I installed the one in my shop which was not too hard but you need equipment to move the heavy columns.
They weigh about 1000 lbs each so be careful.

I feel better working under my F350 knowing the lift has some extra capacity.

Good luck with your lift.
I cannot live without one!

Paul

I have some green tractors too (5055E, 5075E, 2510) and they're great (other than the ones now made in India which continue to have "electronics" issues). Before you make that leap into a lift (Challenger, Benkpak, etc all make very reliable, safe lifts) check here on your model:
