distributor gear swap
#2
Kem,
Can't recall...is the dist. gear pressed on or is there a roll pin holding it to the shaft? If its a roll pin, you should be able to carefully drive it out, swap a new gear and replace the pin. If its pressed, well, unless you have that kind of cool stuff in your garage, I'd take it to someone who does.

The Dizzy gear on my 460 dizzy is pressed on and a roll pin. A new gear will come with new roll pin. You can do it yourself, you don't need a fancy press, just a way to support the gear as you tap it off and on.
You need to make sure that you position the new gear in the right location, otherwise you won't get the correct mesh to the cam gear and the dizzy gear will get chewed up.
