What are the widest/tallest tires I could fit on a XLT lariat dually, right now I have 215/85r16

Here's a good thread on + sized tires for a Bullnose. I @$$ume the Bricknose and OBS trucks are quite similar.

My truck currently has 235/85R16s. Be aware that some of the older trucks had 16.5" wheels from the factory.

I want to say either 235/85r16 or 265/75r16, the 265's will be shorter, but wider and won't touch but there won't be much room either..

I'm assuming you're 2wd because 99% of duallys in those years were. Iirc the 4wds had a little bit more dish on the wheels and would clear the 265's pretty well.

245/75r16 are really flat tires, if width that meets the road is what you want, which I like, but I have no clue if they'd fit and they'd be a little short about like your 215's

Alternatively a person can get spacers, although I highly recommend steel ones, they fetch about $300 for a set of two, and you could then run 285/75r16 out back and whatever you want up front. I really like the 285 size, it has good width for it's height but handles better than a 33x12.50. Too wide and it kinda floats around, especially when wet. At least that's been my experience.

Certain 255/85s will fit, i wouldnt be afraid to run a 1/4" or 3/8" spacer if you need to. Any wider and youre too wide for the wheels anyhow, theyre ~34" tall

it’s 4x4, so then what size wheel would I need if I wanted to run 35s in the 265-285 range

Uhh, not how that works, 35s would be 315/325, the second number dictates sidewall height and width. Or, you could just go buy 35x12.50s, buuut pretty sure they wont fit. 255/85 is the tallest / largest "narrow" tire (if only 275/85 were a thing...)
