I'd like to put a set of 31's on the truck listed below. It is stock height. I am not sure if they will fit. If anyone could tell me I'd appreciate it. Also, if anyone has a technique to check what tires will fit without having the tires on hand, that would be nice to know as well. Thanks!
don't see why not.you will wan't a 6-6.5" backspacing on the rims if you go wide. so they fit underneath.you may have hitting problems with a heavy load with those 4cyl springs
I guess you could take a measurement from the center of your axle to the fender lip under full suspension deflection and see for yourself. That way, you could fill us in on your results, with more specifics, and you'd be helping us out.
Full suspension deflection will be difficult to achieve, though. Have a few buddies sit on your fender while you take the measurement. The more the better.
right now i have 15x10 rims,6.5 back spacing.with 315x60x15
13.5 wide,x30 h. no problems here.i have added leafs, but removed the 4x4 spacer blocks.truck is about 2"lower than a stock 4x4,so about an inch higher than stock 4x2.
FWIW - I put very agressive 31x10.50x15 MT's on my bone stock 98 4x4 and can not force them to rub.
. . so you may be noticing . .
It is quite impossible to accurately "guess" what will actually fit on your particular truck.
Case in point; 6" of back spacing on my Ranger would be into the suspension by about an inch. There is NO WAY ON EARTH I could get those rims on my truck without major modifications!
. . my rims are "stock" aluminum 15x7's w/4-1/2" back spacing.
They probably won't fit on the front of the 2wd 98. I say that because I believe the front end on the 98 was very low compared to the 99+. On the 99+ they raised the front end a little.
It might fit but it's going to be rubbing a little
My 98 2WD has 31X10.50/15 on it currently, now there is some minor rubbing but only if you turn sharply to the left then it will rub on the E-brake cover. I ended up dremeling mine out and installing a sheetmetal plate over it then painting it black so it will never be noticed Hope that answers your question, if it doesn't then bla to you
