I had placed this post in another thread but it may have been a little off topic so I started this thread. We have a 2015 Screw and the driver door did freeze more than once. Had the recall completed and it was okay for a while but then the door would not latch at times even if the weather was not cold. From time to time the door would not close and you had to "bounce" the inside handle a couple of times and then it would close. The kicker came a few months ago when the door just opened while driving. Just curious if anyone else had anything similar happen.
We took it to the dealer and I told the dealer that even though it was out of warranty this is something that should not happen and Ford should take care of it. But I told him to replace the latch and I will cover the repairs if Ford says no and I will deal with Ford. The dealer called the next day and said Ford told him right away that it would be a covered repair at no cost to me. The dealer added two things of interest: the old latch had the lock mechanism stuck 1/2 way between lock and unlock; also the replacement latch assembly had a different part number indicating an engineering change due to most likely a problem?
We had to wait a couple of days for the latch to arrive and it seemed to be a part in demand. That is what prompted me to post here, I was wondering if anyone else had similar issues.
