Hey everyone, new here but, i have a 97 7.3 f250 and almost everytime i press the gas pedal the check engine light comes on and I have no power. It doesnt do it everytime but it does it quite a bit. Have no clue what could be causing it, so any help will be greatly appreciated.
We have no clue, either. But if you had the codes read we would be able to point you in the right direction.
It doesnt show any code numbers when the light comes on which i thought was also weird. Because what check engine light doesnt have a code that goes with it.
If your scan tool isn't showing any codes it means you need a better scan tool.
Forscan works great for this. You can download it free at www.forscan.org. You'll need an ELM327 adapter which can be had from Amazon for less than $30.

found another thread that had the same issue and found out its my sensor on the pedal that went bad. Got a new pedal coming in, but will definitely look into that forscan and adapter for future ussues. Thanks.
My 94.5 would do the same thing on occasion. Id pull over and wiggle the connector at the pedal, and be back to driving. I reckon that it would get hit by my foot or something. Havent had an issue in a while. Was cheaper than a new pedal assy.
