2020 Ranger
2020 Ranger
I just bought a 2020 Ranger FX4. Love the Truck, But have a mouse issue. It got into the cab somehow and I took it to the dealer to find out where it got in at. They told me it did not come thru the air filter and their only guess is that it came thru the door channels. I'm like well it did not chew up any of the door seals. It chewed up the incab filter and the filter was full of mice **** and started to make a nest in there. I now put peppermint and cinnamon in the truck to help keep them away. Was wondering if anyone had this issue or if anyone knows if there are any holes i need to look for. Was also thinking of putting a screen over the fresh air intake but don't want to mess up the mass air sensor. Thank you in advance.
Not a Ranger but a 2010 Exp. A mouse ended up in my fan cage. I could smell decay but couldn't find the source in the vehicle or the garage (too many places to hide). Some time later when I turned on the AC, the fan banged out of balance. Had tor remove the dried out corpse. Must have gained access via the heater/AC air intake. Why? Only a mouse would know!
This year has an exceptionally high amount of mice where I live. I have had mice get into several different trucks I’ve owned over the years. I usually cannot find where they get in. This year mice got into my work truck again and I got a new record high of 38 mice caught in the same truck in about three months. One more mouse died in the air duct and it stunk the truck bad for a week. Good luck.
Thanks, They did not get into the air intake, Thankful for that. I was told by the sale person that Ford used soybean oil in the making of the Wiring Harness and the Vehicles for 2019 people were complaining that the mice were eating their wires, lol Not sure if this it true, So I took it back to the dealer and had them look everything over.
Idk where it got in, but when I bought my car in June 2018, a mouse had gotten in and chewed the line that delivers washer fluid from the reservoir to the sprayers. Took it to the local dealer(was before work, didn't have time to drive 20 minutes to where I bought it), and they said they don't cover mice under warranty, even though I'd literally just bought it. On the upside, it was funny showing the gf's family the chewed up line afterwards lol

If you have comprehensive insurance coverage, your insurance company should cover it subject to deductible. Have done this more than once and it should not count against discounts for no claims. So glad I have had a good cat for a few years now. The only real defense in our wooded area.
