Adding Air Conditioning to Ranger

My son is thinking of buying a 2000 Ranger 3.0L Reg Cab with no air conditioning. Does anyone know approximately how much it would cost to add? Is this a job an average home mechanic could do? Thanks in advance for any advice.

Personally I'd think that it would be easier to find one with A/C in it if you haven't already bought it.

I think that it would be a real headache to get one in a newer vehicle like the one you mentioned.

I put a after market Ford AC in my 75 F100 a few years ago, but even that was a 2 weekend project.

Welcome to FTE!!

I would have to agree, I'm not sure but if the plenum needs to be changed that is an all day project itself.
