I'm making my worklist for during the winter months and one of the first things I'm wanting to do is replace my power steering pump. Its been leaking ever since I bought this truck. What is a good place to buy one at? Anything I should look for in replacing this? Thanks!
Joe
If yours isn't making sounds then re-seal it, or else get a Reman that isn't from a parts store especially anything from Cardone. Plenty of issues with these thats documented here from the last 20 years.

Ford/Thompson "pencil neck" P/S pump has a steel reservoir, the P/S pressure hose threads onto the pump.
Mine is leaking but not making any noise (unless its out of fluid).
Then don't give it up as a core. You will get stuck with a noisy mismatched pump. The Thompson pumps are a 15 min re-reseal job. If you want to buy some time and get the o rings soft fill it with Mercon ULV and that should minimize leaks for a while. Its a full Ester fluid with excellent seal revitalizing properties.
After reseal or replacement it is important to fill it then get all the air out of the system. Before starting the engine. Years ago Ultraranger posted it is best to use a drill and hex piece. Before you mount the belt. The hex piece will fit right in to the middle of the pump's shaft.
Note, a replacement pump won't come with a pulley. Which has to be pulled off with a special tool. Then pressed back on the replacement pump. You might you tube this.
