Easiest way I've found to get into the tank is jacking-up the front end of the bed. Pull all but the rearmost two bed bolts (leave them loose but threads still engaged) and use a 2x4 to lift it and put blocks between the bed and the frame as you go for safety. And don't forget to unbolt the filler neck from around the cap (3 screws) and the hose clamp that ties it to a support bracket underneath.
