Hey folks first post here I think after looking around here for some time now. I’ve finally run into a problem I can’t seem to resolve. I’m trying to find a C6 for an FE engine that has the mounting bosses cast at the front of the pan area right where the bellhousing transitions into the body of the transmission. These were utilized using the mid mount where as the transmission basically hangs in the air. They will have the fixed/bolt on yoke. I’m wanting to use one in my 1963 F250 4X4. The transmission casting that I do know exists has casting number on the transmission case
D0TP-7006-A. If anyone knows where I can get one or two of these please let me know. Bracket pics I’ll try to include.
Thanks: Jim

Reason: Add a pic
During my C6 adventure last year I thought I had seen just about every variant of C6 pieces, mine was a 68 model coming out of my 76 F250 and build with the 'modern' upgrades to the 77+ guts. But I have never seen those brackets, have you tried Ken at Badshoe ? he helped me out a bunch and had some parts that were not easy to find... This is kind of interesting, I've never seen a C6 mounted like that. Sometime in the 70's you could buy a Cab over with a 300 six and a C6, maybe they were mounted like that. Don't have an answer for you but hope someone does. Seems like a lot of weight to be bouncing around behind a aluminum bell housing.
Craig, the gentleman that sent me the pics has it behind a 428. He’s never seen another one either.
The brake came off of his original 1958 automatic out of his truck so doing it this way was 100% bolt in even the driveshaft bolted back in.

I think you are right, those brackets were used on F and C 600's with the 300/C6. Not many were made but they did exist.
No, the 300 uses the small block Windsor pattern. FE is different. I'm not familiar with the C series- if they had FT motors as an option too, those were interchangeable bell pattern with FE. Well they pretty much were a FE with a few exceptions.
Sure it is not a Cruise O-Matic/FMX thing? Just an idea. I just redid my 75 C6 in my highboy and now I wonder if now, that may be why those holes are in the front right behind the bell....I just assumed maybe for a different shifter on different cars of the era...You may have broken the internet with this question HAHA.
May be a good question for Fordification or Jay Browns FE forum. Lot of guys over there have redone older and larger trucks.
I wonder if the Highboy transmission is what you are after, or will work? Later in date, but as I stated mine has a mounting hole in the spot you state. I am pretty sure the same general design was used from 60's into 70's.....a lot of the drive line parts were the same across the body styles of the F250 4x4s anyway. I know they have some quirks other, later, C6 cases do not.....that part has a D1-TA in it so it appears to be 71-Truck. I just looked at some of my C6 build pics and but all I have is a side shot of the case. The holes I am refer too were on the side and on the bell part. Not on the part in from of the pan. There is not a lot of space there.
I have to believe if it has the brake drum mounting it must be C, F, or B series. High boys just had brake to the rear axle I thought. Who knows when it comes to Ford. They put big bell C4 transmissions with an adapted small bell converter in Bronco's and Econolines in the mid 70's. Ford supplied engine and transmissions for John Deere chassis Winnebago. Never did get a look at them though, would have been 460's and C6's.
d0tp-7006-a. Is the case casting number! It is special. The drum brake did not come on this transmission! It was installed from an original Fordomatic from the 50’s as stated. Thanks for all of the responses. I believe this to possibly be an exclusive U-Haul item. Does anyone have a pic of a C6 from behind a 330 XD or any other FE powered UHaul? Jim

Casting number: D0TP-7006-A = Ford part number: D0TZ-7006-A .. C6 Transmission Case - 1970/71 F600 330 2V
Thank you NumbersDummy. Mounts show up as M450/M500. The case was the hardest part to decipher. Thanks for the final piece of the puzzle. Do you have one laying around by chance?
