I didnt want to turn it upside down. So these are the best pics I got. The guy who gave it to me said its supposed to be a C6 2WD. But he is not very truck smart. But my uncle asked me was I sure. So it got me wondering. I already bought a 4WD short shaft and 205 adapter for it(for a C6). just thought I would ask yall.
I dont know if it will fit behind a 205 but I heard these trannys where good if ya have one and ya build it right, I gave $50.00 for the one I have and it looks identical to the pics and is very heavy. Been runnin mines now from 1999 when I bought it used and it has not let up or had any trouble with it. I'm going to completely rebuild it with preformance clutches and a shift kit when it goes down.
My brother has an FMX in his '55 F100 behind a 351. Both are 74 models from a car, and the trans has never been rebuilt. I don't know about strength, but a friend that does tranny work said that they consume the least horsepower of any Ford 3spd auto. His with a 2bbl on the stock 351 and a 2.79 rear gear gets 23-26 MPGs on interstate trips. If I got over 15 outta MY 351, I'd pass out.
LOL yea I dont know much on these trannys other than what I was told soo any more info that could be posted would be cool, as Ford localy couldn't tell me anything on it nor could AutoZone lol..and they have the material to look these things up
