All you need to do is rev the engine a little and the residual magnetism in the iron core rotor will start the charging. Of course if you don't like to bump the throttle (who doesn't?) then you would need the light or an equivalent resistor hidden out of sight.

I think I’m going to pull the trigger on this kit, still a little pricey but I was planning on going with the electronic ignition again like I currently have on my truck now. I’m not confident in how I’m going to wire everything but I’ll have to learn somehow - https://www.vintageautogarage.com/19...-p/f4953ek.htm
