Wow, so the 790 HP was with porting, new cams, lifters, and pistons, and a stock GT500 intake manifold. No supercharger yet!

I noticed the torque was flat all the way up, and didn't really increase much above stock. Is that typical for high performance mods? Will it change when blown?

Would be interesting to see what it would do with pump gas. I'm pretty sure the race fuel they were using helps a fair amount.

in one of the comments Brian said reason for low torque was it has a blower cam in it.

So obviously these high HP applications are great on a dyno, or in a light race car, but how would we expect a 7.3 that's hopped up a bit in a HD application to do? I mean longevity and reliability wise.

Would a low boost or slightly built engine making say 600 HP live a nice long healthy life? Barring any freak accidents that something just lets go and blows.

Sounds great! I'll be watching closely!

Obviously the 7.3 is more than capable as is, but who doesn't love a little hopped up big v8?
