Alright fellas...I live 15 minutes from most of the spots where people got killed. Every morning on the way to work I see the bus with "In memory of Conrad Johnson" plastered on the side. He was the bus driver who was killed by the sniper.
I would like for both of those guys to be put it stocks in the middle of town like in medieval times. On my way to work every morning I'd throw a rock at them just to start the day off right...then depending on how bad of a day I had...I'd really let them have it.
As inhumane as that may sound, lots of people don't understand the consquential suffering we all went through here...unsure of whether you're going to make it home from the store etc. The constant media frenzies...my in-laws called me a 100 times to make sure I had their little girl outta harms way.
More than anything I want both of them held accountable for what they did.
I'll tell ya, I don't know how you can hang out in a place where the bad guys have no problem getting and carrying weapons but the law abiding citizens do.
My hat is off to the intestinal fortitude all you folks have shown. I really don't know if I could cope if I was in your position.
You know I am glad this came up in a way. IN a related topic I cannot believe they brought out the tv movie about the whole sniper situation the other day. It hasn't even been a year and they bring a movie out so everyone who was intensely affected can relive the situation, thanks hollywood were the ratings good? I refused to watch it as I thought it was ridiculous, I know it is good to face your fear and reality but come on, it was just inappropriate at best. As far as the snipers in all honesty I would have rather the police shot them (given they were the right susupects) or they had taken their own lives than to think the tax payer gets to flip the bill for their room and board for the rest of their natural born lives.
What I think they should do is this, isolate the suspects and have a psychologist come in and see what makes them tick and what they love. Again isolate them for the life of the sentence but on the first week go tell them one or more of their loved ones were shot in retaliation for what they have done (even though they weren't) and keep the truth from them and let them dwell on it forever. Should the psychologist find they are emotionally dead then a good old fashion bullet to the head would be good. just a thought later
JW my girl wanted to watch this sniper movie sooo badly. I refused but I came into the room while it was on and I was glued to the screen. I'll say this for the USA network, they did a good job with facts (being so close to the action I feel pretty in touch with what was going on) and they apparently shot lots of it right here in town. I NOW understand their timing as the trial was supposed to start yesterday. What made the thing interesting enough to watch was seeing how they portrayed the snipers' relationship with one another and how they interacted with people daily. That's the side you didn't see on the news.
As far as wasting my dime for trials and incarceration...I go straight back to my idea for stocks...there's all of this consideration for criminals' rights...where are the rights of their victims. I think that once you do something so dispicable your rights as a human should be suspended and it's fair game! Plus, stock have low upkeep...waterseal them annually...or heck...let's make some new style ones out of aircraft aluminum or stainless steel.

I won't condemn or hate anyone for watching the movie I just feel strongly it should not have been on in the first place. The movie probably did show a real to the facts interpretation of the actual events, thats the problem as mentioned before people who were emotionaly affected don't need to be exposed all over again, they don't have to watch you might say, your right but you know they are going to just because. As far as how the snipers interacted daily I could care less, think of it like this nut cases are smart enough to figure things out on there own why should we offer a real world account of actions and feelings for them to relate to and build courage or validate their unstable feelings/reality as okay or glamorous, because that is how it will be interpreted. Know what I mean?
Aww no dude...I didn't take it that way at all. I was with ya..I was adamant about NOT watchin it for the same reasons you've mentioned. We're on the same page...
They are not worth the cost of the stocks. Put em in the car they used and crush it with them inside. Saves time and recycles everything at the same time. Also invite all friends and relatives of victims...
As far as movies for these type of creeps,...All profits of movies go directly to families of victims (including any money destined for the jerks thinking of making the movie)... That might slow down them thinking of a quick buck on the sensationalism...
I can not believe they are pleading Not guilty... Lets see, got the car, the rifle, the diary on the laptop, gee, yeah they are not guilty... HA
I saw one of the snipers yesterday coming out of the courthouse. I live in Virginia Beach and that is where they are holding the court cases. Well one of them is. Just thougth i'd share w/ u all.

As much as I agree that the punishment ought to fit the crime, that stinking ACLU would sue to beat the band. Cruel and inhuman punishment, etc etc....
I didn't watch the movie and have no intention of giving those murderous swine the satisfaction of knowing they are more famous than they may have planned on being.
