Can anyone tell me what if anything I’m missing from from my cab light. This is what I had when I got the truck. I have rewire the truck and want to set up interior lights.
thanks
jerry
I forgot about the door buttons to make the dome work off when door closed and on when open. Make sure you download the wiring instructions from the mid-fifty site they sometimes forget to include them with their kit
You don't need the door buttons. You could use the switch to turn it on and off as needed. That's what I did to my 54 when I ventured on the Dark Side.

exactly. As a matter of fact, I have owned many 56s with dome lights and I’ve never had a 56 with door switches. Always door switches in 53-55 trucks with interior light but never in a 56

But the door switches are cool....open the door & voila !! Let there be light !!
My 56 has door button switches to turn on the light when the doors open and a slide switch on the light bezel to turn on the light with the doors closed. I added a toggle switch to the light bezel to bypass the door switches when I did not want the light to come on. Just like when I was a teenager and we were stealing hub caps. Remember hubcaps?
You've said many times that you used the Ezwire 21 circuit kit, are you using the stock light switch? I have my dome light working with the switches at the doors and from me aftermarket headlight switch..
I have the door switches. is there a way to make it so when doors are open the light comes on? I can get pigtails but do I need the switch?
thank you
jerry
