Looking to replace my amber cab lights with the smoked lenses. For those of you that have done it, is there a certain brand that fits the OEM lights better?
Seems pretty straight forward just remove one screw and replace the cover.
My stock light bases were cracked so I got the Pacer complete units. Haven't replaced them all yet as I got one done and it started to rain so I put it back together, that was last summer Need better LED's to put in them though.
I went recon too. Nice quality. I wasted money putting amber LED bulbs in there instead of the recon supplied amber halogen bulbs. Two wouldn't stay lit. I pulled them out and used the recon bulbs, no issues.
NO. I added LED lights (superbrightled.com) when I put the recons on. They are a waste of money, which is why I mentioned it. Recon comes with amber halogen bulbs that work just fine.
Buy some Atomic LEDs!! Not just lenses though, the whole assembly! you'll love them
Side note: I hate recon...awful service, bad quality products (just rebranded, cheap, Chinese junk), and WAAAAAY overpriced for what they are. 3 strikes and they are out for me.
I used Anzo brand lenses, no problems with lens fitment. The LEDs they sent with the kit were too reddish for my taste, I swapped them out for conventional amber halogen bulbs. The extra heat keeps the condensation down in the winter months anyway.
